Most of you know that the National Association of Broadcasters (the “NAB”) is pitching its members on a compromise with the recording industry to meet their insatiable sound recording royalty demands. This compromise is being sold as a deal which would ostensibly get the recording industry off radio’s back at a fairly “cheap” price — implying, in effect, that a bird in the hand is better than one in the bush.
